Director of Global Business Development

Mr. Joe Swantack founded STARK Industries LLC in 2015 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and Global Business Development Director. Mr. Swantack serves as Isansys Lifecare Ltd.’s U.S. New Business Development Consultant. He has co-founded innovative organizations, bringing new products and ideas from the drawing board to market-ready, and notably served at the Division level as Operations Specialist for the U.S.-based organization The Kroger Company, operationally overseeing 250+ retail locations in the U.S. Midwest.

Lizabeth Swantack, RN

A registered nurse for over 28 years, Ms. Liz Swantack brings a wealth of practical knowledge about healthcare processes and clinical technology to the STARK team. She is also an entrepreneur, owing her own consulting business (www.Circle47.org) and is a passionate advocate for children with special needs, working directly with parents, children and school districts to create lasting change in public education policy. Her work as a community organizer and advocate has helped her create connections and bridge gaps among people with diverse interests, a skill set that is uniquely suited to STARK Industry’s mission and vision.

Peter H. U. Lee, MD, PhD, MPH, MS, FACS, FACC, FAsMA

Medical Advisory Board Officer

Dr. Lee is a double board certified general surgeon and cardiothoracic surgeon and an accomplished researcher with numerous grants from the NIH, NASA, and other sources. He is an author on nearly 100 peer reviewed papers, scientific abstracts, book chapters, and other significant writings. Dr. Lee is a Lt Col in the U.S. Air National Guard where he serves as the Chief of Clinical Services for the 179th Medical Group and as a surgeon and flight surgeon. He is an academician and fellow of numerous prestigious ;professional organizations and currently serves on the Board or Executive Council of 3 regional or national professional societies.

Ian L. Valerio, MD, MS, MBA, FACS

Dr. Valerio is a practicing plastic surgeon at the Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital and a Captain-Select in the U.S. Navy. He is Professor of Surgery with The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) and Adjunct Associate Professor Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery with The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is an author on nearly 300 peer reviewed papers, scientific abstracts, book chapters, and other significant writings. Dr. Valerio has extensive frontline field experience treating injured warfighters and he was formerly the director of the Plastic Surgery Research Programs with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Service at Walter Reed Naval Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, where he developed and established a research program with over $50 million dollars of direct and indirect funding.

Marc O'Gríofa, MD, PhD, DMO, FAWM

Dr. O’Griofa is a “Tactical Physician” & NASA Aquanaut. He specializes in training and developing biomedical technologies and telehealth solutions for extreme environments. Dr. O’Griofa is the principal investigator for Project CASPER, which was the first Irish experiment to fly onboard the Space Shuttle and International Space Station investigating sleep disruption in astronauts. He is a medical officer, scientist and rescue diver for NEEMO (NASA Extreme Environment Missions Operations) and the first Irish Aquanaut to be chosen by NASA as part of a NEEMO crew to help with astronaut training and the development of new technologies for the next generation of spaceflight. In addition, he is also a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, a trauma and combat casualty care instructor for physicians and Special Operations Forces teams in joint tactical and combat medical care and is a tactical medic for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search & Rescue and SWAT Teams.
